My Journaling Ecosystem
The architecture of my thoughts
📝 I’ve always been a huge journaler. Writing out my messy thoughts has always been how I find a sense of order.
📚 Until recently, I had multiple notebooks for multiple purposes. Then the wave of leather journals hit my feed, and I was instantly hooked - finally, a way to bring all my ideas together neatly each with its own defined space!
Most of my journals are from Paper Republic who have kindly offered a 30% discount code off all bundles - if you are thinking of adding or starting your own ecosystem you can use RUBYPR30 at checkout!
The Compass
I carry this with me everywhere! It houses my daily planner as well as my to do list. I usually spend five minutes each morning listing my to-dos, and then on the way back home cross off what I’ve accomplished (spoiler: it’s often a lament over what I didn’t do…).

When it comes to to-do lists, I keep things simple. I’ve tried various methods - timed tasks, categories, colour coding - but a straightforward running list works best for me.
The patina on this leather has changed so much with use but that’s what makes it so special. It’s one of two journals I have adorned with a charm. I don’t know what it is about charms - I sort of love and hate them. I don’t want anything to get in the way of writing on a flat surface and I don’t want anything to scratch the leather unnecessarily, but I love the aesthetic, so I am trialing this one out!
