Do I forgive too easily?

This is for sure going to be one of those personal essays I will overthink publishing. Should I have kept these thoughts firmly in the pages of my journal? Or was sharing this recurring thought something that opened up a conversation? I won’t know until I press post I suppose!

Regular readers will know that each Saturday I post a weekly philosophical journal prompt. Philosophical is probably a bit of a loose term but it’s usually a question I’ve been asking myself all week, inspired by that week’s reading. Sometimes I debate whether xxx or xxx and last week, reflecting on the fact that we were around the half way point of the year, I decided to journal out what I had spent most of my time thinking about this year, so far.

I ended up writing it out three times. The first two weren't honest - they were surface level. Will my job get any easier, will that colleague just do what I wish they would, will my husband stop pushing me into making decisions on the house renovation I haven’t got the mental capacity to think about?

The third time I got to it - to what’s been bothering me all year: do I forgive too easily?

This question has been going around in my head for months and months and if I’m honest probably years.

There are a few things that have triggered this thought that have happened completely independently of one another. It’s not important what they are, and they’re too personal to share but the underlying thing out of all of them is how easily I feel like I have forgiven wrongs done to me.
